It's always very difficult to talk about radio range.
It depends a lot on external factors such as obstacles, radio disturbances, and especially the receiver (sensitivity and antenna).
The wifi range can greatly exceed the km in a perfect environment (personally tested with a record at 3.5km, but a much heavier installation and a perfect environment).
What I can tell you is that our signaling devices are transmitting with
- the maximum power authorized by the regulations
- an omnidirectional antenna as stipulated in the decree of 27 December 2019
So we can say that we get the maximum technically possible reach AND legally.
In addition, it should be noted that no radio range, nor transmitting power elsewhere, is not stipulated in the decree of the 27 December.
Regarding S2 scenario flights, either up to 1000m, this does not apply here. Indeed, signaling devices are not intended to provide telemetry with the ground station (pilot). Furthermore, the decree does not link the use of reporting devices to the use of specific scenarios.
The government's objective is to position sensors on the ground near sensitive sites (prisons, central…).
Hope this answers your questions.
Otherwise, do not hesitate !
